My my My my
Change Team:

Hi softball families,

I’m excited to be able to coach 12U again this year!  It looks like we have an amazing group of athletes and we will have a lot of fun this season.

We are going to plan for a team meeting at the uniform handout.  Will keep you updated on the date and time of this.  I would appreciate parents attending this meeting as well so I can introduce myself and go over some expectations for the season.

Communication is key on and off the field.  Please let me know that you have received this email and anytime your athlete will not be able to make a practice or game as soon as you are aware.

Most of our practices are on Fridays as not to interfere with middle school softball as I know many of you are juggling both teams.  We also will have pitcher/catcher practice on Sundays and potentially an additional optional practice on Sundays after that.

Our tentative schedule is posted but keep an eye open for changes.  I will also plan to send out regular emails with reminders of practices and games.

If you haven’t filled out the medical release form, please complete that and turn into myself or Coach Kristie.

Also, please let me know if you will be around for April vacation or not.

Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns.

Hi softball families,

Sorry for the lengthy email, but there is a lot to cover, so please read closely.

First off, I am so proud of the progress all the girls have made only 3 games into the season.  Last night was a great game and I’m excited for Saturday!

Schedule –

We moved our game that was on Friday to June 2nd due to the Hood Middle School dance.  So we have Friday off this week!

Saturday – our team pictures are at 8:40am at Alexander Carr Park, 14 Pierce Ave. Derry.  Please do not be late so we don’t make other teams wait.  Pictures are mandatory to attend even if you are not buying a picture package.  If you want to buy pictures ahead of time, the link is here Derry Diamond Spring 2022 (

Saturday’s game – our game starts at 11am.  Please arrive at 10:15am.  There is a game before ours, but we will start our warm up behind the fence once everyone arrives.

I know it is going to be a hot day.  I plan to have a cooler with extra waters and if girls want to bring extra drinks they can put them in my cooler as well.

I also have another way to help keep them cool.  I was going to get them an end of the year gift, but decided to do something earlier instead due to the heat.  I have cooling towels for them.  I told them last night they get to pick the color by the order they arrive at the field. Good incentive to show up on time!

Sunday – I also let the girls know that if they want to pitch or catch, they need to come to these practices from now on.  They are very helpful in progressing their skills.  We have a former college pitcher who is going to come and work with the girls on occasion for pitching and coach Matt has been so helpful with catching.

Catching starts at 12:45 to get gear on.

              Pitching starts at 1:30

Skills practice for the whole team is 2:30-4pm.

We should be at Don Ball park this week, check the softball field first, but we may have to start at the baseball field and then move over after.

National Juniors Honor Society – congrats to our girls who are joining into this great group!  GHHS already had their ceremony, but if anyone who hasn’t contacted me yet is going to the WRB ceremony next week, please let me know.

Sportsmanship Award -  any 12U and 10U players are eligible.  Have your girls fill out this form.  Microsoft Word - 2022 DDAA Sportmanship Application (Kirkland) and turn it in before 5/27.  They can win a $250 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card!

All Star Day Basket – for the past few years with the pandemic, we haven’t done these, but are starting back up again.  We do not play on 6/4, which is All Star Day, but we are asked as a team to get a raffle basket together as a fundraiser.  This supports our team to continue, so please consider donating money or an item to the “basket”.

Our theme is wine lovers.  I can get a drink tub or basket to put it all in.  Some ideas for donations are Wine, wine stoppers, glasses, margarita items, drink mixes, cute signs related to wine.  Or if you prefer to donate money, I can pick up more items as well to fill the bucket.  This is due on 6/3, so I ask if you please can get me items/money by Sunday 5/29 the latest so I have time to fill whatever else we need, I would appreciate it!

Ok, I think that is it for today, but please email me with any questions!

Weekly update

Hi team!

Sorry I had not sent out an email sooner and with some confusion about our game.  Today's game was rescheduled to next Wednesday as there are a lot of players on the middle school teams who played against each other today.

So our upcoming schedule is

Friday, 5/13 - practice 6-8pm - This is changed to Don Ball Park, not Hood field

Sunday, 5/15 - Catchers start at 1, pitchers start at 1:30 and skills practice for all starts at 2:30-4.  Currently, this is still on for Don Ball Park, but this may change, so watch for an update.

Wednesday, 5/18 - Home game at Vets field vs Windham - arrive for 5:15 please

We had a game scheduled for Friday 5/20 but due to the Hood dance, we are rescheduling this to Thursday, 6/2.

Have a great rest of your week and see you Friday evening!
